Sigils, whose name comes from the Latin word "sigillum" meaning seal or signature, are emblems representing an intention. More than just drawings, they are powerful magical symbols that can bring you protection or help you fulfill a wish for health or abundance, for example. We will explain exactly what they are and how to create a sigil in just 5 steps.
What is a sigil?
In occult sciences, a sigil is a magical symbol that represents a being or an intention.
As we explained in a previous article, it is very important for anyone who wants to practice white magic or witchcraft to formulate an intention during the ritual.
Because they offer a concrete visual support, sigils can help you focus on your intention to better attract abundance, protection, or luck.
Even though it is possible to use existing sigils of protection or abundance, it is even more effective to create your own personal magical symbol using paper and a pencil.
Step 1: Formulate an intention.
Since a sigil is a magical symbol that represents an intention, the first step in creating one is to clarify what you desire.
As I have already emphasized in an article dedicated to this subject, it is very important to formulate the message that you want to send to the universe or to your own brain in a perspective of self-suggestion and positive thinking.
Choose a formulation in the present tense and without any negation, for example: I attract luck / I attract love / I am safe / I am healthy.
Step 2: reduce the formula to a few consonants.
Once you have successfully formulated an intention in the clearest and most positive way possible, you need to reduce this expression to just a few letters, or more specifically, a few consonants, before you can create a personal sigil.
In practice, start by crossing out all the vowels and write the remaining letters below.

Then cross out all the duplicate letters so that only one of each kind remains:

Step 3: Use the correspondence table.
The next step to create a magical sigil is to transform the remaining letters into numbers using the following correspondence table:

Note the corresponding number for each letter below the letter:

Step 4: Use the circle of numbers.
Then draw a circle and place the numbers from 1 to 9 in a clockwise direction. The number 1 should be placed at the top, and the number 5 at the bottom, with number 3 on the right and number 8 on the left.
Draw a dot in front of each number. All you have to do is connect the dots to easily create a sigil.
Step 5: Trace the sigil.
The last step is to connect the dots in the circle, in the order of the number sequence obtained in step 3, which in my example is:
1293385.
If two letters fall on the same number, like the double 3 above, only one line should be drawn.
This easy method allows you to get a first glimpse of your magical symbol. You can then copy it neatly by calligraphing it and adding personal touches.
